Card issuing and payments processing
Ranked 19 of 35 at 56.5 out of 100.
Issuer-side card processing: authorisation, account management, clearing and settlement.
What the evidence says
The checked evidence corroborates issuer-side operational pain. A vendor guide describes dispute reconciliation built on tribal knowledge and spreadsheets. An implementation partner documents BIDV’s 18-month platform migration. The migration is a documented success, not an adverse failure.
Providers
The card checked three incumbents: Fiserv, FIS Total Issuing and ACI’s BASE24. Fiserv’s FY2025 filing reports $21.2 billion of total company revenue. FIS reports over 40 billion transactions annually across its acquired portfolio. ACI’s filing reports $523 million of Issuing and Acquiring revenue. The figures mix revenue, transactions and partnerships. No ranking is supported.
Marqeta is the recorded challenger. Its August 2026 release reports $120 billion of quarterly processing volume, up 32%. Its AI-native status is recorded as unknown.

The pain
Dispute reconciliation is pieced together from documentation, tribal knowledge and spreadsheets. That mechanism is a vendor-authored practitioner claim, not a measured prevalence.
BIDV’s long-stable platform hit growth limits per its implementation partner. The same account preserves the platform’s accurate, stable operating record.

Events
BIDV completed migration from Cadencie to Way4 in November 2025. The work ran 18 months across three phases. The usual-30-months comparison is vendor-attributed.

Limits
Reconciliation-symptom evidence rests on one vendor-authored guide. The BIDV migration is a documented success. The FPT page’s date format is unresolved; the quote date holds partial-year precision.
