Construction project accounting
Ranked 4 of 35 at 67 out of 100.
Construction project accounting and job-cost systems for contractors.
What the evidence says
The checked evidence corroborates procurement and AP pain at two named Vista buyers. Chaparral processed bulk invoices without matching them to purchase orders. McAlvain staff split purchase orders and re-entered them into Vista by hand. An overlay vendor reports automation gains at both. No evidence checked establishes an independently measured market-wide rate.

Providers
The card checked three incumbents: Trimble’s Viewpoint portfolio, FOUNDATION and CMiC. Trimble reported roughly 8,000 Viewport customers at its 2018 acquisition. That is a historical portfolio-wide count, not a current census. Foundation reports more than 43,000 construction professionals helped. That unit is people, not buyer organisations. CMiC reports one-quarter of ENR Top 400 contractors naming it their ERP. The three figures are not comparable. No ranking is supported.
Adaptive is the recorded challenger. Its homepage reports more than 750 builders running AI agents alongside existing stacks. The counts and the AI-native label are vendor self-reported.

The pain
Named buyers reported invoice-verification pain around their ERP. Chaparral’s unmatched invoices produced billing errors and overcharges. Ordering ran on paper and email requisition forms.
McAlvain’s equipment manager tracked orders in spreadsheets and re-entered them into Vista.

Events
Chaparral adopted the Field Materials overlay beside Viewpoint Vista. The vendor reports about one hour saved per purchase order.
McAlvain adopted the same overlay with direct Vista synchronisation. The vendor reports over 1,500 orders processed. Both events are vendor-reported and undated.

Limits
Quotes come from buyer testimonials inside vendor case material. Field Materials is retained as event and quote evidence only, not as a second challenger. The overlay vendor’s capability-gap claim about Vista is a vendor claim, not independently audited. Reported gains are vendor-reported.

In their words
we were not matching our invoices to PO line items or collecting packing slips.
