Telecom billing and BSS

Ranked 5 of 35 at 66.5 out of 100.

Telecom billing, charging and customer-care cores.

What the evidence says

The checked evidence corroborates telecom-BSS pain on both sides. A buyer filing documents back-office functionality gaps at a 2006 cutover. A vendor release documents an 18-day charging replacement for 20 million subscribers. The first is a buyer disclosure; the second is vendor marketing.

Providers

The card checked three incumbents: Amdocs, Ericsson and CSG. Amdocs reports about 400 customers globally. Ericsson reports over 3 billion subscribers supported on its portfolio. CSG’s figure is a historical 2005 processed-end-user count. The metrics are incomparable. No ranking is supported.

Totogi is the recorded challenger. Its release reports a completed go-live for Zain Sudan in 18 days. Its AI-native status is recorded as unknown.

The pain

Hawaiian Telcom’s cutover systems lacked basic functionality. Billings, collections and order flow-through all broke down.

Remediation required third-party call centers and manual processing. The dispute settled for $52 million in February 2007.

Events

Hawaiian Telcom’s cutover failed on April 1, 2006. The filing documents continued issues despite remediation.

Zain Sudan replaced an unnamed incumbent charger in 18 days. The account is Totogi’s own release; the incumbent stays unnamed.

Limits

The Hawaiian figures are one buyer’s disclosed account. The Zain migration is vendor-narrated. Incumbent metrics span different units, scopes and 20 years.
